To Say 'Yes' or 'No'
I'm sure everyone is aware of the recent shakedown on the cig issue that involves a number of students. It sets me thinking...
I do understand the curiosity and the desire to dabble in it and try it out.
Sure, almost everyone goes through this phrase at some point in their lives.
But do they know what they are doing?
I mean, are they truly aware?
Of the real issue at hand? Of the consequences of doing so?
It's not about being cool or matured, or rather TRYING to be so.
It shldnt be about trying to gain acceptance by frens.
As always, they think that they know better.
That it ain't a big deal.
That it's their lives and their choices.
And we shld just leave them alone.
It just shows how deluded and lost they are.
And we are only here to help and guide them.
The power of peer pressure cannot be undermined.
There'll definitely be more of such tempting desires of various sorts in years to come.
Learn to stay firm and true to your own beliefs in the face of temptations.
Learn to see and judge for yourself.
Coz you only have yourself to rely on at that moment.
That very crucial moment that could potentially change your life.
